As you move through each bank of switches, the display changes to remind you what each button is programmed to do. The eight keys can have up to five settings banks, meaning there are 40 separate commands. The display shows the function assigned to each button, so you don’t have to memorize or guess what each button does. The QuickKeys remote has eight shortcut keys running across each side of a slim OLED display. Frankly, I couldn’t tell the difference between the latency of the two connection methods, so that I would advise the convenience of the wireless option. For purists who don’t want any compromise on latency, there is also the option to use a USB cable and no battery limitation. A battery is built into the tablet, providing up to 16 hours of use before it needs recharging. The wireless dongle connects the tablet, remote and computer with as low a latency as possible. The software for the Xencelabs Medium Pen Tablet Bundle is slick and works flawlessly.
